“The 2011 Tinto Monte da Peceguina is a blend of 35% Aragonez, 17% Touriga Nacional, 16% Alicante Bouschet, 15% Syrah, 5% Trincadeira and 2% Tinta Miuda, aged for nine months in mostly well-used French oak (the majority third year and older; only 5% new oak). This might not be my favorite Monte da Peceguina, but it is probably going to be up there, and it may yet improve. A bit raw at the moment, it features an elegant mid-palate, a pure, fresh and bright demeanor, and a very tasty finish. The tannins are ripe, but there is some structure here. The balance here is quite lovely and it just plain tastes great, too. Drink now-2020."–M.S.
